This is a continuation of what was being talked about in the last portion of chapter 38, the battle of Gog and Magog with Israel and God delivering them. Before we begin, let’s just bow in prayer. Heavenly Father, we thank you for the opportunity you give to us to gather this afternoon.
We pray that you would just help us to discern your word and may your spirit guide and direct us. This we pray in Jesus’ name, amen. As you look at what we studied last Wednesday evening in the last portion of chapter 38 and talked about the invasion of Israel by Gog and Magog, we saw a couple of things that were interesting and happened there.
It said that the invasion occurred when the walls came down and when there were unwalled cities and Israel was at peace. One of the things I failed to mention last week is if you go to Israel today, you’ll find that there’s walls all over Israel. The first time we went to Israel, Roberta and I had the opportunity to be taken around by Menno Kalischer and his wife and they were showing us some of the things.
We were driving down this one highway and Menno said, “We could not drive down this highway just a couple of years ago because we would be being shot at by terrorists and they would shoot at cars driving down this road.” However, Israel built walls so that they can no longer shoot. There’s also walls that have been built up in other places to prevent terrorists from coming across with cars and bombing or suicide bombers coming across.
So they built walls with checkpoints. Well, the indication is that there’s coming a day where the walls will come down. Now as we look at this, there’s two streams of thought which deal with the Battle of Gagamegog.
One is it’s a separate battle from the Battle of Armageddon, the last battle. But when you begin to read more about this, it’s almost like this is the same battle as the Battle of Armageddon, but I know that some, Dave Hunt for one, believed that it was. But as you look at it, there would have to be peace that comes before this war begins.
And we’re seeing some of the things that are happening in Israel today that could lead to that peace that would come. One of the things is the Abraham Accords where President Trump has been uniting the Muslim countries with Israel in that they’re signing agreements and some of them have signed very strong agreements. The United Arab Emirates right here, it’s in the southern portion of the Saudi Arabian Peninsula, right there is the United Arab Emirates.
They signed an agreement with Israel and they actually have recently purchased protective rockets that would protect from Iran shooting rockets at them and they would be able to shoot down the rockets that are being shot at them and they are being purchased from Israel. They signed an agreement with them. Saudi Arabia is now talking to Israel about signing an agreement with them.
We also, Bahrain, which is right here, they signed onto the Abraham Accords the first time, Kuwait as well. And so we see that much of the peninsula here, outside of Oman and Yemen, which are two that are much more hostile towards Israel with Yemen being the Houthis and they are very hostile towards Israel. They’re an ally of Iran.
So there is these things happening. Turkey is becoming, as we mentioned last Wednesday night, is becoming more and more aggressive towards Israel, saber rattling, threatening, and they’re also attempting to take back some of the, well, they don’t want to give back the rights to the natural gas that had been given away by a previous Israeli prime minister and they want to take more. And they are trying to do that by extending the borders of what they’re claiming is their international territory into the Mediterranean and also into the Black Sea and doing that and extending their borders both ways in the ocean.
So we see that there doesn’t, and what’s happening with Iran right now is the current leadership has been greatly diminished. And we’re seeing that Israel is also up in this area here, which is southern Lebanon, is where Hezbollah has their strongholds and Israel has pushed them way back. And taken over, and I just read that they have gained access to control of a lot of tunnels that Hezbollah has in southern Lebanon.
And so Israel is gaining much more strength there. And same thing over in Gaza, they’ve gained a lot of strength there. But now there’s being, it’s really a mess over there.
And our government, both first it tells them to do things and it tells them not to do things. And so consequently, what they do is, if they could just go in, they would be done. But we know that there has to be peace for this battle to occur.
We also know that according to the scripture, Iran and its allies, as well as Russia and Turkey will be the forces that attack during this battle. Let’s take a look at Chapter 39.
And it says, Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, Thus saith the Lord God.
Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshach and Tubal, and I will turn thee back and leave thee, leave, but the sixth part of thee and will cause thee to do, to come up from the north parts and will bring thee up to the mountains of Israel.
Ezekiel 39:1-2
Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 2 and I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
Now, who does it say is going to bring Gog down from the north?
And we see that Russia is up here, Turkey is up here, and Iran is up here. These nations and specifically Gog, which a lot of Bible scholars believe is Russia, are going to be coming down from the north.
And the person, they’re going to be brought down by the Lord. Now, we saw earlier that he’s going to place a hook in them and draw them down. Some interesting things have been happening with Russia.
They have lost a lot of income with, as I mentioned on Wednesday night, by losing their pipeline during the Biden administration that went to Europe. They have lost a lot of their sales of oil, which is one of their main sources of income, and natural gas, which is another source of income for them. They, as well as Turkey, are looking with, as we studied this morning, envious eyes on the natural gas of Israel and coveting it and wanting that.
So it’s going to be more than just a theological battle that’s going on. This would be also an economic battle that economics will drive this war as well. And one of the things that God may use to draw them down, Russia down, is her need to gain money again and a source of natural gas and gain control of Israel’s natural gas fields.
Also, there have been some oil fields that have been discovered in the land of Israel. They have not been developed yet, but they are there as well. And then we also know that Israel has some of the most advanced technology of anywhere in the world.
And Russia, as was seen in the last war with Ukraine, was behind in their technology. They’re behind in their ability to fight in the little country of Ukraine because they had drone technology that far exceeded the Soviet Union’s technology, has actually been able to hold their own and is attacking into Russia and has caused Russia a lot of problems. And so technology could be another thing.
Also, there is people that have said that Israel has a lot of gold and silver that was in the temples that was taken before and buried and hidden, and that there may be gold and silver that is in the land of Israel that people are searching for and trying to get as well. But there’s a number of reasons that Russia and Turkey could be going down there. And Turkey also has the theological reason.
They being Muslims and want to, Erdogan wants to establish, reestablish the caliphate, and that is a worldwide Muslim government and religion. Well, verse three, And I will smite thy bow out of thy hand and will use thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. Now, what’s going to happen when this invasion occurs is an interesting thing.
Israel will be at peace. In other words, for whatever reason, it may be Abraham Accords, it may be other things that cause Israel to finally relax. They may come up to some type of peace agreement because it appears that they have defeated Hezbollah and Hamas and Iran is greatly weakened.
And so Israel is evidently laying down our weapons. Well, how is Gog and Magog going to be defeated? Well, we saw in chapter 36, the Lord is going to cause what is referred to as natural disasters, but they’re anything but natural because they’re instituted by the Lord and they come in such a manner that they cause great damage to the attacking army. And not only that, it says here that their their weapons will fall out of their right hand and that they won’t be able to use the bow.
And if you show most people are right handed and when they use their weapons, a bow, they’d hold the bow in their left hand, the arrow in the right hand, draw it and let it go. Well, the Lord says they’re not going to be able to do that. Their weapons will not work against Israel the way they’re supposed to work.
God is going to do something. Now, later on, you see the talks about horses being used. There’s talk about these electronic pulse bombs that can be dropped that cause computers to be useless and they don’t even have to hit the ground.
They can be way above up in the atmosphere, they’re dropped and they put on an electromagnetic pulse that negates the computer. I can tell you electromagnetic pulses will do that. It did it to my keys.
I went to do an EPMF over at Swanson’s Hyperbarics, where basically you lay down and they put you in and give your body some electromagnetic pulses to help your systems. And you’re always supposed to take anything that’s electronic out of your pockets. I left my key in and my key is a smart key.
So it’s got a little computer chip in it. So when I went to start my car, when I got ready to leave, my car would turn over like crazy and it wouldn’t fire. And I thought, what did what happened now? And then I realized I left my key in and the electromagnetic pulse, which is a rather mild one compared to a bomb, had fried my chip in my key just like they told me it would and to always take it out.
Well, if it could do to my key just a medical machine that puts out a lot less energy, a bomb could do that and it could wipe out all the computers. Israel wouldn’t have weapons, Turkey wouldn’t have weapons, the U.S. wouldn’t have, and nobody would have weapons over there that would work. And I did read an article that said that Russia is developing horses, horse cavalry again.
It says that they’re going to come on horses with swords and spears. Well, if an EPM was dropped, that’s what they’d have to fight with and very primitive guns, very primitive weapons. I don’t know if that’s what’s going to happen.
It’s one possibility, just throwing it out there. But it says that they’re going to come, but whatever it is, their weapons aren’t going to work. They’re going to come and they’re going to have, it’s going to appear like it’s just going to be a wipeout.
They’re going to come in and attack Israel. And this battle is going to be one of the shortest that Israel’s ever seen. It’s going to be, the odds are even worse than when Israel was first founded as a nation and you had all but two of the original Arab nations in that part of the world that were set aside for land.
Six out of the eight came against Israel right away. Israel was outnumbered with guns, tanks, airplanes, weapons and soldiers. And yet God gave them the victory.
Well, this is even going to be worse. They’re not going to have weapons at all, but the enemy’s weapons won’t work. Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou and all thy bands and the people that are with thee.
I will give them unto the grievous birds of every sort and of the beasts of the field to be devoured. So we see that there’s going to be a mass invasion, but they’re going to all fall on the mountains of Israel. Now, what is the mountains of Israel? Because if you’re attacking from Lebanon, there are mountains.
Mount Hermon is in the northern most portion of Israel, right along the Syrian-Israeli-Lebanon border. Right in here is Mount Hermon. There are other mountains down there.
The Golan Heights are over here. And those are all looking over the Jezreel Valley, which is where the Battle of Armageddon is going to occur. And then also they’re overlooking the sea of Galilee and the valley that surrounds the Sea of Galilee, the land that surrounds that.
But it says that all of these enemies are going to attack from the north and they’re going to fall in the mountains of Israel. Well, the mountains of Israel would be in the northern portion. They also the mountains of Israel are in the central portion of Israel because that’s where Jerusalem is.
And that’s where you always go up to Jerusalem because it’s in the mountains. And they are going to want to attack Jerusalem because they’re going to want Jerusalem. But they’re going to fall in the mountains of Israel.
And there’s going to be a mass number of deaths that will occur as God supernaturally comes to the defense of Israel and kills her enemies. And he’s going to call the vultures and the eagles and the ravens and all the birds of prey and are going to come and feast upon them. Now, it’s interesting also, this, as I mentioned, is Europe above, Africa below, and Israel is a pathway in the middle.
One of the interesting things that happens twice a year is the migratory routes of birds from Africa to Europe and back again to Africa. They all go over Israel. There are places in Israel where literally you have thousands of birds at some times of the year that will fly over that portion of the of the land.
And you can see here that there’s going to be a day when this battle occurs. The ones that are birds of prey and eat flesh, they will have a feast as there will be all these people. He says, I will send a fire on Magog and among them that dwell carelessly in the ashes and they shall know that I am the Lord.
And so the people that have denied that Israel is God, Israel is the apple of God’s eye and has anything to do with God. The people have denied the God of the Bible, which Muslims have denied the God of the Bible. The communists have denied the God of the Bible.
The humanists have denied the God of the Bible. Who’s going to be attacking Israel at this time? It’s going to be the communists, the humanists and the Muslims. And they’re all going to see their power and their gods and what they put their trust in can’t help them.
And they’re going to know who is the true God. God is going to reveal himself to them. Thou shall fall upon the open field for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.
And I will send a fire on Magog and among them that dwell carelessly in the ashes, in the aisles rather. And they shall know that I am the Lord. So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people, Israel, and I will not let them pollute my holy name anymore.
And they and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. I want you to see there’s two things that are going to occur from this battle. The first is we just got done talking about Gog, Magog and all of their allies are going to fall in defeat and they’re going to realize who is the true God, the God of the Bible, the God of Israel.
But Israel and those that remain in Israel, they are going to realize, too, that he is the true God and he is the one that they are to be worshipping and not any other god. Behold, it is come and it is done, saith the Lord God. This is the day when I, the Lord, have spoken.
And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both shields and the bucklers and the bows and the arrows and the hand staves and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years. The destruction of the enemies of Israel is going to be so great that there’s going to be bodies all over the hills of Israel. And then also there’s going to be the remnants of destroyed weapons everywhere.
And it says here that they’re going to be wood that’s going to be burned. Well, today’s armies don’t have much wood in them. So what could he be talking about? Well, again, it could be an EPDM or then none of the modern weapons are working or back to using older weapons.
I don’t know. But saying it’s going to take seven years for them to clear the battlefields of all these weapons and so that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forest, for they shall burn the weapons with fire and they shall spoil those that spoiled them and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord. And it shall come to pass in that day that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the alley of the passengers of the east of the sea, and it shall stop the noses of the passengers and there shall they bury Gog and his multitude and they shall call it the valley of Haman, Gog.
And so the valley of the East Sea, the East Sea would be the Dead Sea. So it’d be the valley on the east side of the Dead Sea would be on the Jordan side of the Dead Sea. They’re going to is where all these bodies are going to be buried.
The Dead Sea would be way down here in southern Israel and be right next to Jordan, right over in here is the Dead Sea. And then that is going to be going to have to dig a giant trench there where they put all the remnants of these bodies and the people that pass by, the odor is going to be so bad that they’re going to complain about the stench of all these bodies being buried there. Then he goes on and he says in verse 12, and seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them that they may cleanse the land.
It’s going to take him seven months to bury all the dead soldiers from this battle. And it’s seven years to burn all of the dispose of all the weapons. This is a major battle and yet Israel will not be the one defending them and they’re not going to be defended by the United States.
It’s going to be God that’s going to come to their rescue. Let’s just close in prayer. Lord I pray to just help us to understand this and Lord help us to understand the intensity of the battle that is coming.
Lord help us to see the events in the Middle East right now that are aligning themselves where this is being set up to occur and yet people don’t even realize that it is. But your word has revealed it 3,000 years ago. And father I pray that you would just help us to have faith in you and trust in you and realize that you are greater than any force on earth.
And father you will defend your people and you will open the eyes of your people even as you said in the vision you gave Ezekiel back in the chapter on the dry bones how that you would place flesh on their bones and then you would breathe spirit into them where they would know who you were. Lord help us to trust in you and help us to seek to have you work through us to share with others that they can have this hope of salvation which is found in Christ Jesus. And Lord help us to be willing to share that realizing that you are the God who is able to change hearts.
Be with us now we pray in Jesus name. Amen.

6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the Lord. 7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel.
8 Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord God; this is the day whereof I have spoken. 9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years: 10 so that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord God.
11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamon-gog. 12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. 13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord God.
