2 Kings 2:12-25; 4:1-37, Elisha
We’ve been looking at the various kings, both of Israel and Judah, and the nation of Israel, as we’ve been studying, has been very turned against the Lord and following false gods ever since the two portions of Israel separated, and you have the kingdom of Judah, the southern kingdom, and the kingdom of Israel, the northern kingdom, ten tribes in the north, two in the south. And ever since Jeroboam established the kingdom and wanted to make sure that…
2 Chronicles 24:15-27, The Importance of Constantly Seeking God’s advice, Not Man’s
Joash had become a king of Judah, the southern kingdom. His grandmother was the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel of the northern kingdom. His grandfather died before he was even born. He was just a baby when his father died and his grandmother killed all of his brothers and all of the other heirs to the throne. Joash was hidden by his aunt, the daughter of his grandmother, and her husband who was Jehoiada the high priest. And they were…
1 Timothy 4:1-16, A bit of background as to where Paul was at when he wrote the letter to the Ephesians
One of the things that we often need to do is remember to count our blessings and be thankful and grateful for all that God has done for us. The last number of years, a lot of people can be very discouraged, and yet we as Christians are never to be discouraged. The Apostle Paul, and this morning I would want to take a look at some verses out of 1 Timothy to build on what we were looking at…
2 Chronicles 23:16-21; 24:1-16 Joash did what was right in the sight of the Lord
And Jehoiada made a covenant between him, and between all the people, and between the king, that they should be the Lord’s people. 17 Then all the people went to the house of Baal, and brake it down, and brake his altars and his images in pieces, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. 18 Also Jehoiada appointed the offices of the house of the Lord by the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had…
2 Chronicles 22:10-23:15, A Wicked Mother
But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah. 11 But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,)…
Ephesians 6:18-20, Praying and Watching
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And…
2 Chronicles 22:1-9, Evil Leadership
And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned. 2 Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri. 3 He also walked in the ways of…
2 Chronicles 21:1-20, The Impact of the Decisions We Make
Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead. 2 And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel. 3 And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom…
Ephesians 6:10-20, The Amour of God, Part 2
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able…
2 Chronicles 20:1-31, When they began to sing and to praise – VICTORY!
King Jehoshaphat won a battle by having his army sing praises to God instead of leading with soldiers. When they began to sing and praise, they unleashed a powerful wave of victory! As Jehoshaphat organized the battle, the voices of his people rose in unison, filling the air with songs of faith and hope. Their praises became a weapon of divine power, turning the tide against their enemies. It was a moment where trust in God transformed their fear into boldness, leading them to triumph through faith in their God.

The first thing we are to do is remember where we draw our strength from. We draw from Christ in our strength, our fruit, and our ability to stand against an enemy.
