Sermons by Pastor Glenn Knudson (Page 2)

Pastor Glenn Knudson graduated from North Dakota State University in 1974, becoming involved in the glass contracting business following graduation. In 1987 five families along with Glenn and his wife Roberta started Cornerstone Baptist Church in Fargo, ND where Glenn has been the pastor since. Pastor Knudson has a burden to see the body of Christ stand for truth in the midst of a relativistic culture, reflecting the character of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as fulfilling the great commission, reaching the lost with the gospel.

Nehemiah 13:1-31, Walk in the truth and not in the deception of this world

We’re going to continue and wrap up the book of Nehemiah. And we’re not going to go verse for verse out of a couple of the chapters. I’ll give you a summary of those. But then I wanted to show you what has happened in Israel at the time of Nehemiah, after the wall had been rebuilt. Because just having victory doesn’t mean the battle ends. Just having people turn to the Lord doesn’t mean Satan is not going to…

Jeremiah 37:1-21, Obedience in difficult circumstances

I want to continue our study through the book of Jeremiah and if you have your Bibles with you, if you would turn with me to Jeremiah chapter 37. As we mentioned, some of the books of Jeremiah aren’t in chronological order. We were studying that Zedekiah was the king. Well, Zedekiah was the last king of Israel or the last king of Judah before the Babylonian captivity and was taken into captivity. But he had a brother that was…

Jeremiah 36:1-36

We are continuing our study through the book of Jeremiah. We are looking going to be looking at another son of the day, and that is Jericho. And he was actually the first of Jeremiah’s sons to take the throne. And so we’re actually, if we look at it from a chronological standpoint, we’re going back and hearing from the events that are occurring here, that they lead up to what’s happening with Zedekiah. And part of it is, we’re…

Nehemiah 10:29-39, Hearts need Changed Part 2

I want to once again turn back to Nehemiah, and I want to pick up where we left off last week. And I want to expound upon where we’re looking at the people of Judah who had repented, and what they’d repented of, and what they’d been involved in doing. As we came to Nehemiah chapter 11, chapter 10 rather, a number of the religious leaders had signed an article stating that they were repenting, and stating that they were…

Nehemiah 10:28-39, Leaders Committed to Keeping the Law that Forefathers Neglected, Part 1

Turn with me to the book of Nehemiah, and I’d like to look at Nehemiah chapter 10 this morning, and possibly get into some of the things in chapter 11. Nehemiah was written by Nehemiah at the time that Ezra and Nehemiah came back in to Israel after the nation of Israel had been taken away into captivity, and they’d returned to the land, and Ezra had returned before Nehemiah to rebuild the temple, and Nehemiah had come at the…

Jeremiah 34

I want to continue our study on Jeremiah. And today we’re going to be looking at chapter 34 of Jeremiah. I’ve been looking at the last few weeks and God has been doing some, having Jeremiah do things to reveal to the nation of Israel promises that he has made and prophecies that he has revealed about coming events. Prophecies dealing with the fact that even though he’s going to allow them to be taken into captivity because of their…

Jeremiah 33

Restoration Jeremiah has been imprisoned by Zedekiah, the king of Israel. Zedekiah is going to be the last king of Israel. From the time of Zedekiah until when the Lord returns, there will be no one sitting on the throne of David. There will be others that will claim to be king, but they won’t be of the line of David. Zedekiah is the last one of the line of David. Zedekiah had done that which was evil in the…

Nehemiah 8:9-18; 9:1-3, The Problem of the Heart Issue

During Jesus’ ministry, as I mentioned earlier, one of the things that his disciples struggled with often, as well as the people who were around with them, is they failed to see that the real problem man has is a heart issue. It’s not broken bones, it’s not disease, it’s not corrupt governments, but it’s our relationship with God and our rebellious hearts. Jesus came to transform our lives and to make us new creatures in Him. And those of…

Jeremiah 31, Forgiveness and Restoration

Turn with me to Jeremiah and I wanted to take a look at Jeremiah chapter 31 this evening. We’re going to jump ahead a few chapters. The last few weeks we’ve been looking at Jeremiah and it’s kind of been repeats of the same message because that’s what much of the book of Jeremiah is, Jeremiah’s burden that he’s given from the Lord about what is to happen to the nation of Judah and that they are not seeing the…

Jeremiah 25:1-11

So if you would turn with me to Jeremiah chapter 25. Last week we looked at the fact that God was preparing to take the nation of Israel into captivity. There were three invasions from Babylon, the first two, the first invasion from Nebuchadnezzar was one in which they took away some of the young nobility and some of the leaders of Israel but they didn’t do a lot of damage to Jerusalem or the nation itself. The second invasion,…

Nehemiah 6:15-19; 7:1-4; 8:1-8, Continue

Will turn with me to Nehemiah, and we come to the last portion of chapter 6. Nehemiah, the last portion of chapter 6. God had done an amazing work through Nehemiah and the Jewish people that had returned to the nation of Israel, to the city of Jerusalem. In the space of 52 days, they rebuilt the walls. That’s less than two months. And when Nehemiah got there, the rubble was so great, if you remember when we began the…

Jeremiah 23:31-40; Jeremiah 24:1-10

Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. 32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the Lord, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the Lord. 33 And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask…
