LEARN: John 14:15-18

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

READ: 2:23-25; 3:1-6

2. What was Moses’ occupation after he left the court of Pharaoh? v 1a

3. How long had Moses now been with Jethro? Acts 7:30a

4. Though Moses had previously been a man of high position in the courts of Egypt, we find him diligently working in this lowly position of shepherd for another man. he did not even own flocks of his own. What does this tell you about the character of Moses?

NOTE: The “backside” that is the west side.

5. What special place did Moss approach as he led the flocks? v 1b

6. Use the following verses for more information concerning the mount Horeb.  Exodus 3:12; 4:27; 19:1-5; Deuteronomy 5:2

NOTE: The thorn –bush is a common tree, a thorny shrub, a species of acacia, common  in the Sinaitic district.

8. What made this specific burning bush draw the attention of Moses? v 2b

9. What does Moses’ response (as recorded in verse 3) to the unusual sight of the burning bush tell us about him? v 3

10. According to verse 4, who was the “angel of the LORD” that appeared to Moses in a flame of fire out of the middle of the bush?

11. At what point did the LORD call out to Moses? v 4

12. The double call of Moses’ name implies urgency. How did Moses answer the call? v 4

13. What is the LORD’S command to Moses as he comes to answer God’s call? v 5

15. Using a dictionary define the word holy.

16. What do the following scriptures teach us of the “holiness” of God?

I Thessalonians 3:13

Hebrews 12:14

Romans 7:12

I Timothy 3:15

Psalm 89:34, 35

Exodus 15:11

21. From the above verses of question 19, what is the conclusion that we must reach regarding who Moses spoke to at the burning bush?

22. Now we see that God is not One (singular) as in the way that Islam teaches or as Modern or Orthodox Judaism of today teaches. Instead, according to Holy Scripture (the Bible), what is taught about who God is?

23. We see then that ONE God is at least two persons. But in other verses we see also the Holy Spirit mentioned with The Father and The Son. For example what is said in  Matthew 28: 19?

24. Who is the Holy Spirit? John 14:26?

25. What part does the Holy Spirit play in our lives as a believer in Jesus Christ? John 14:16-18; 16:13

27. Back in John 14:16 and 18, what does Jesus tell us concerning the connection between Himself and the Holy Spirit?

28. From these and many other Scriptures, what can we understand is a “doctrine” or teaching of the Scripture about the connection between The Father and The Son and The Holy Spirit?
