1.”Thou shalt not raise a false report.” v 1, Define the word “false”. What are some ways that a person may “raise a false report”?

2. As we can see from the above verses, a false report can be raised not only concerning other persons, but also concerning spiritual matters, and even God himself. What are some of the reasons why someone would bring a “false report”? v v 1, 2, 3, 6

3. How does Psalm 1:1 further explain how a person can become entangled in raising a false report.

4. How close are God’s people allowed to get to that which is false matter? v 7

5. What is the antidote or escape route to keep away from raising a false report? Psalm 1:2

6. What are some of the results of becoming involved with false matters in the physical realm? v v 7, 8, 9, In the spiritual realm? Matthew 24:4, 5, 11, 12, 24; 25: 40-46

7. For what obvious reason were the children of Israel and followers of Jesus to avoid all falsehood?  John 8:44

9. Explain God’s 6 year-7th year plan for the nation of Israel. v v 10-11 

10. If the people followed God’s law concerning letting the land rest in the 7th year, how would they meet their physical needs? Leviticus 25:18-22

11. Verse 12 reminds the people that they are to do no labor on the seventh day (the Sabbath). List as many other places where this same command is given as you can.

12. What benefit is given in verse 12 for not working on the Sabbath?

13. Explain the word “circumspect” and what it is related to in verse 13.

14. What were the three times a year that Israeli males needed to keep the feast before the LORD God (meaning at the tabernacle when the law was first given, and later on at the Temple in Jerusalem)?  v v 14-17

15. What promise did the LORD make concerning those times when all the males of the land were meeting with the LORD far from their homes and families? Exodus 34:22-24

16. Verse 18 tells us that no leaven was allowed to be offered with the blood of sacrifice. Why?  I Corinthians 5:6-8

17. What stipulation is made in verse 18 concerning the fat of the sacrifice? 

18. What is the rule of the first fruits? v 19 

19. What practice was forbidden in verse 19b?

NOTE: Leaven was a symbol of corruption and evil. Seething a kid in its mother’s milk was a common Canaanite ritual involving magical spells. This practice was not to be a part of worship of the true and living God, because it was used for evil and there is to be no appearance of evil in our service of the Lord.

20. How can the careful maintenance of purity that God required of Israel be applied to what people in the church wish to include from the world into their worship today?
