Learn: Hebews 10:15-18
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

- What is the word used in verse 10 to explain what Christ has done for us through the offering of his body? Give definition of the word. NOTE: The reason why believers can be called “saints” (hagioi- set apart ones) is because they have ALREADY been “set apart” from the consequences of the penalty and power of sin. What tense is the word and what does the tense tell us?
- Use John 17:17 to EXPLAIN HOW we are sanctified.
- Use I Corinthians 6:11 to EXPLAIN HOW and WHEN these people were sanctified.
- Ephesians 5:25-26, What is involved in being sanctified or set apart for God?
- I Peter 1:2, LIST who is all involved in a believer’s sanctification? Behind their name describe what part they have in the believer’s sanctification.
- From verse 10, how often was the work of sanctification by Christ done? Should anyone think that Christ’s sacrifice need be done over again? Why?
- What is the problem with the old covenant? v 11
- As every priest offers the sacrifices that cannot take away sin, what is their position? v11 How often are they offering the sacrifices?
- CONTRAST the effectiveness of the work of the priests (verse 11), and “This Man” (verse 12).
- What two words clearly point out that the sacrifice of Christ is completely sufficient to accomplish the forgiveness of each person’s sins. v12
- What do the two different positions of the offerers (verse 11, 12) of sacrifice show?
- How does verse 13 relate to the prophecy of Psalm 110:1 which is also quoted in Hebrews 1:13?
- What KEY WORD is used concerning the offering Jesus made on our behalf in verse 14? What did that offering make them? How long is that offering effective? Who are the beneficiaries of that offering?
- What is the perfection that Jesus provided for us? I Thessalonians 3:12, 13; 5:23 In the PAST — In the FUTURE —
- Who is the WITNESS that these things are so? vv15, 16 Where did he RECORD that witness?
- According to verse 16, who will do this work of sanctification?
- What change is brought about by the work of God? v 16, also see Jeremiah 31:33
- This promise “covenant” depends only on God. How can we be sure that it will be kept? Hebrews 6:13-20
- What is the PRINCIPLE that is established verse 14? What is the RESULT of that PRINCIPLE for us? v 18
- LIST some things that people( who claim to be Christians) do today hoping to pay for their sin.
- What does verse 18 say to those who try to earn their sanctification?
