Hebrews Lesson 25
Learn: Hebews 10:19-22
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

We now begin the practical application of what we have learned in the first portion of Hebrews- Hebrews 1:1-Hebrews 18:18: First you have BELIEF then comes BEHAVIOUR. First you have DOCTRINE then you have DUTY. First you have PRINCIPLES then you have PRACTICE.

NOTE: Boldness-“freedom to speak freely” before the throne of God, because we are not guilty of anything. - What sacrifice makes it possible for believers to enter into the holiest? v 19c
- According to Ephesians 2:18 and Romans 5:1, 2 what does “entering into the holiest” give us?
In the Old Testament, only the High Priest could go to the Mercy Seat which was behind the veil one time a year to bring the blood sacrifice of a lamb. When Jesus died on the cross to be our perfect sacrifice, that veil was torn from top to bottom by God to show that he has removed the separation, so that any who accept his sacrifice can come to God. - According to verses 19 and 20, the blood of Jesus consecrated a __________ __________ _____________________ __________. The vail that we come through to reach the Father is __________ ________________.
- We no longer need to go through an earthly priest as people did in the past in order to come into the presence of God. Why? v 21 Also see Hebrews 3:6.
- So with this high priest, the Lord Jesus, we are given the command : “Let us draw near”. To who? Hebrews 9:24
- What is a “true heart”? Use Hebrews 10:2 to help you explain though it speaks of the opposite of a “true heart”.
