Hebrews Lesson 31
Learn: 1 Peter 5:7-9
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
Read: Hebrews 11:24-40
Note: Referring to verse 29 and the crossing of the Red sea. For years liberal scholars have argued that the water where the Israelites crossed in their flight from Pharaoh was very shallow, they refer to it as the “sea of reeds.” But of course it would then have been foolish to say that all the Egyptians with 600 chariots (Exodus 14:7), men and horses, could all be drowned. We now have evidence that the crossing was at the Gulf of Aqaba where the water is 1000 feet deep, and this place of crossing would bring the children of Israel to the other side into Midian and what is today Saudi Arabia.
