24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Discusses the first of two main issues that form the heart of the New Covenant. It is the POWER of the blood of the Messiah, which is seen in the REDEMPTION which he obtained.
- What is needed for our high priest, Christ Jesus of the good things to come? v 11
- List four characteristics which distinguish Christ’s place of service from that of the other high priests? v 11 Also see Hebrews 8:2,; 8:5; 9:24.
- What sacrifice did Christ make as opposed to the sacrifices of all other high priests? v 12a
- Use Hebrews 10:3, 4 and I John 1:7 to contrast the ability of those sacrifices verses the sacrifice that Christ made on our behalf.
- Along with obtaining salvation from sin, which is available to all mankind, what other purchase did Christ obtain by his sacrifice? Acts 20:28
- List 3 attributes of the redemption that Christ obtained for us by his own blood. v 12
- From the following Scriptures give 3 more attributes of the nature of our redemption which Christ obtained for us. Romans 3:24 NOTE: The word “freely” is the Greek word dorean and can mean “without a cause” as it does in John 15:25. The point may be that we are justified “without a cause in us”; it was grace and grace alone that made our redemption possible. Ephesians 1:7 Galatians 3:13 The POWER of the blood of the Messiah is seen in the RESULTS which it accomplished. vv 13-15
- Use Leviticus 16:16, 29-34 to tell what special DAY is referred to by the words “bulls and goats” as used in verse 13.
- Use Numbers 19:1-12 to explain, IN ONE PHRASE, to what the words” ashes of an heifer” referred.
