6. Use verse 7 to describe the relationship that Moses had with his father-in-law Jethro.

NOTE: When Jethro arrived in the area, he sent word to Moses that he had arrived, and then he waited. It is oriental custom and a sign of deference on Moses part, that upon hearing that Jethro was in the vicinity that Moses went out to meet Jethro. He did not wait for his father-in- law to come to him.

16. What understanding does recounting all the mighty acts of God bring about in the hearts of those who do it? v 11

17. It would seem that Jethro, like the generality of the heathen around him believed in a plurality of gods, and had hitherto regarded the God of the Israelites as merely one among many equals. Now, he renounces this creed, and emphatically declares his belief that Yahweh is above all other gods, greater, higher, more powerful. Give an example or two of others in scripture who understood by God’s power, that he alone is God.

22. How did Jethro’s praise of the LORD affect those around him? v 12b

23. I Timothy 4:12 that admonishes each of us to be an example to other believers. In what areas of our lives should this example be seen?  Define the words as needed.
